In all, over 150 performers amidst 66 unique acts will play over the two days. Two Center Stages will rotate 45-minute sets, allowing continuous music from noon – 10 pm each day. The Dance Stage will highlight an assortment of grooving and growing acts. A particularly exciting development is the creation of the Singer/Songwriter Stage at the stage normally used for Barn Jams. Featuring an ‘in-the-round’ performance style, this stage will offer an intimate level of connectivity amongst individual performers and their audience.

The Awendaw Green Music Festival, December 4 – 5

On the heels of two successful years of Rocktoberfest, we’re excited to announce our latest adventure, the Awendaw Green Music Festival, adjacent to the Sewee Outpost in Awendaw, SC. Over two Lowcountry winter days (Sat-Sun, Dec. 4-5), a generous helping of Charleston’s finest musical acts will display their talents across four stages. Performers include Steven Fiore, Gaslight Street, James Justin & Co, Mark Bryan, the Shrimp Record Family Band, Slow Runner, Mac Leaphart and My Ragged Company, The Tips, John Wesley Satterfield and his Damn Fine Band, Ryan Bonner and the Dearly Beloved, The Bushels, Lindsay Holler and the Western Polaroids, The Casual Kings, Firework Show, Deepwater Soul Society, Megan Jean and the KFB, The Freeloaders, Torture Town, Po’Ridge, Steel Petals, The Danielle Howle Band, Josh Roberts and Doug Jones. Tickets for the Awendaw Green Music Festival are $15/day or $25 for a weekend pass and students $10/day or $20/weekend pass, available at the gate. Food and drink will be reasonably priced and provided by the Seewee Restaurant Grill on site and Palmetto Brewery. Please, no coolers.
Proceeds from the Awendaw Green Music Festival will benefit the Wando High School Band Program, the American Red Cross, Toys for Tots and other local causes.
Camping is available and encouraged in close offsite proximity to the festival grounds. Food will be available at the camping location and a bonfire pit will serve as the communal grounds for late night revelry. Camping tickets are $20 car or $40 RVs [no hook ups].

Charleston, SC – Charleston Jazz Club, in collaboration with Awendaw Green and Steve Simon Presents, is pleased to announce the musical and visual artist line up for the First Annual Charleston Jazz Jam on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Barn at Awendaw Green from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The Charleston Jazz Jam will showcase some of the best Jazz talents in the area in an unscripted, unrehearsed evening of music under the stars and among the pines in one of the Lowcountry’s most unique musical venues, the Barn at Awendaw Green. www.awendawgreen.com

Local jazz enthusiasts will recognize the names, Ann Caldwell – vocal, George Kenny – sax, Oscar Rivers – piano and Joe Wilson – guitar as the bedrock of Charleston jazz artists. The event will also feature local bassist Jamie Harris, Joe Clarke – vocals, clarinetist and Jazz Jam collaborative – Steve Simon, Mary Porter – vocals, Anthony Constantine – percussion, Patience Clements – piano, Allyson Taylor – vocals and Wando senior Charlie Kendall. The Charleston Jazz Club is also pleased to announce its visual art poster created by Charleston’s own, Tate Nation. “Nation has captured the heart of Awendaw Green,” said Dennis Fassuliotis, founder of the Charleston Jazz Club. “his contribution to this inaugural jam includes all the elements of food, fun, music and moonlight, that we want to share as the First Annual Charleston Jazz Jam.”

Nation’s works have been commissioned by the U.S. Postal Service, Coca-Cola, Delta and United Airlines, Canon USA, Time-Life, and Radisson Hotels Worldwide, among many others. Tate’s paintings and prints are held in private and public collections worldwide and have appeared in numerous national publications

The Charleston Jazz Club (www.facebook.com/chasjazzclub) was founded in 2009 by local businessman Dennis Fassuliotis, to promote jazz in the Charleston area and bring musicians and jazz enthusiasts together for the first time using a social networking site.
The Charleston Jazz Jam is free to the public and will be from 6 – 10 pm at Awendaw Green – 4853 U.S. Highway 17, Awendaw, SC on Wednesday, November 10th, 2010.

Get there early, dress weather appropriate, coolers and lawn chairs permitted but leave room for some of the best from renown Seewee Restaurant’s menu. Among other treats, owners Tim and Stephanie Penninger, stated “we are going to start steaming oysters so come out for hot local oysters, cool jazz and the crisp November moonlight. That is what living and loving in the Lowcountry is all about.”
